My First Fashion Show: Elie Tahari

So while browsing around at Nordstrom last week, I noticed a flyer hanging up about designer Elie Tahari. It said he was going to be hosting a Spring 2011 preview show at there and everyone was invited to attend. How exciting. I was glad to realize that it was set for a day I had off. My first fashion show, and an Elie Tahari one at that. Also, a meet and greet with him!

I left for Norstrom today, an hour early, and dressed up in my city-best. Upon arriving, it wasn't as busy as I had expected but there was a good crowd. I got to look through all of the Elie Tahari and T Tahari collections before the show, which was nice because I knew what to expect. When the show started, a rush came over me. I thought to myself "this is so exciting!" The show was everything I thought it would be, a full half an hour of structured separates and colorful dresses. We even got a sneak peak of his accessories. The bummer? Designer Elie Tahari had an unfortuanate event so he was unable to attend. Either way, the show was a success and I had a great time! Here are some shots from the show and some of my favorite looks.

Waiting for the show to start, full house!

Wasn't in the show, but so cute!

Karl's Muse

Blake Lively really does live the charmed life! Not only does she star in the popular series, Gossip Girl, and is set to appear in the The Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds, she also has caught the eye of Karl Lagerfeld. He describes Blake as the "American dream girl" and cast her as the ambassador for the Chanel Mademoiselle handbag line. The photoshoot is over and here are the results. The bags look great, but Blake is stunning!

St. Patty's Day Style

Well St. Patrick's Day is coming up this week and the rule is to wear green, unless you want to get pinched. I say, why wait until to sport that universally-flattering shade of Kelly green? I have found some of the chicest green clothing and accessories to make everyone 'green' with envy on Thursday (or any day). Now all I need is a pot of gold to afford them all. Have a great St. Patricks Day! xoxo, MS

Leave it to Anthropologie to come up with some very whimsical prints for Spring. I'm loving all of these blouses and am hoping to purchase at least one of them. They make me anxious for warmer weather!

Etsy Pick: My Favorite Vintage

My Favorite Vintage has the an outstanding collection featured in their shop. In it's About Me section, it's mentioned that is run by a '60 year old retired clothing maker.' I can't think of a better person that I would want to buy vintage from. Not only do they know the clothes better than anyone, they are probably in pristine condition. I'm sure the person selling the clothes is as love with them as I am, and that is so exciting. This shop features a lot of high-quality items, like my personal favorite which includes this leather doctor bag that has been in my Favorites folder for some time now. It's now sold out but it was definitely worth mentioning anyway. Whoever you are, My Favorite Vintage, you're fabulous! Thank you! xoxo, MS
THE bag, it's sold out now though. Boo

Go International Re-release

I'm so excited that Target decided to re-release a variety of dresses from their Go International collection. I had mentioned before that they were going to pick some of the most popular dresses from previous collections to showcase on March 13 in select Target stores. Luckily, they are picking some of my favorites to sell. I hope I already nabbed the adorable black belted Libertine with lace embellishment. I haven't seen the printed Thakoon in stores yet though. Here are my favorite looks. View All Here

Inspired by Zooey Deschanel

The flirty Zooey Deschanel is one of my favorite style icons. Whether she's on the red carpet for a premiere or out and about in Hollywood, her style components are relatively the same. She always wears very feminine frocks with vintage accents. Mary janes, bows, tights and brooches are always added to her wardrobe in every situation and setting. One brand that epitomizes her style would be Anthropologie.

She is a fantastic actress, a talented singer (her voice is haunting when she sings with her group, She and Him) and an inspiring fashionista! The lovely Zooey is gracing the cover of Lucky magazine this month so pick it up NOW!
