Etsy Pick: Sweet Bee Finds

How did I spend a majority of my Tuesday afternoon? In between reruns of Sex and the City I browsed on Etsy. Was I looking for anything in particular? No, I just perused the shops carrying 1950's party dresses. Why? Because I have an addiction. There is nothing I love more than 1950's fashion. Well, that's not entirely true but those frothy, crinoline-lined dressed in sherbert shades do hold a very special place in my heart.

Sweet Bee Finds  features all things vintage--various accessories and clothing from various eras. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from Brooke's shop. xoxo, MS

Starting Monday off right

Usually Mondays are all about grumbles, but this Monday is different! My sister let me in on a little secret about the new Target collaboration which I knew nothing about (total shocker!) and I am beyond-excited about it! Prabal Gurung is the new Target-collaborator! YES! His 80-piece collection will hit stores February 10 and include clothing, shoes, jewelry, and bags. Not only did he intern for Donna Karan and design for Bill Blass, (and not to mention his own label), he now has Target to add to his list. I can't wait for this collaboration, can you?! xoxo, MS

Project Runway Season 10 Winner Is...

Dmitry! I am over the moon that season 10's winner is Dmitry Sholokhov! He has been my favorite designer over the entire competition because of his craftsmanship and consistency (not to mention that to-die-for black blazer amongst other things). He truly is a great designer and I can see him going places--really going places! I think he get as big as Christian Siriano is and I can't wait to see it! Congratulations, Dmitry! xoxo    **Not to say I didn't love Melissa's, Chris' and Fabio's collections. They were all terrific too.

Etsy Pick: Emma Rose Designs

Well I can't think of the last time i've done an Etsy Pick-post. I'm sure it's been at least 6 months or more. I don't know why I fell off the wagon, maybe the reason is my new-found Pinterest obsession...in any case, it's back and I have lots of new(ish) shops to share with you!

I stumbled upon Emma Rose Designs while looking for a shark tooth necklace. After watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall numerous times, I have been on the hunt for the perfect necklace. Well, the one I found on Emma's etsy shop is perfect! Not only is the pendant itself exquisite, but the dainty chain really adds to it. I absolutely love this piece!

Lady

There is nothing like a full skirt to make you feel like a lady (except all things frilly and the color pink). I found this gem at my favorite secondhand store, Look What the Cat Dragged In. If you don't know it, check it out! This skirt is all my favorite things rolled into one--black, pleated and vintage! I dressed it down with a casual sweater and booties.
